Continuing above the town, on the asphalted road that leads to Volano, the first signs show the word “Boa”. For the travelers of discovery and knowledge, I suggest they follow it to reach, after walking among pines and firs, a very special, intimate and cozy little church. I used the term small next to a church precisely because it is small. But what a charm! In the village it is named “The little church of the dead of Boa”, because it was built in devotion to the dead from the plague, probably the terrible plague of 1630. In fact, inside the chapel, on the left you can read “Apse-Ricordo-Morti-Peste -Data-Very-Remote ”(the resolution for the construction of the shrine of Boa bears the date of 16 August 1778). On the left, an opposite writing shows other information: “Nave-And-Portico-Buildings-During-World-War-1915-1918-Parish-Bonomini”. The frescoes and other furnishings are appreciable. It is enclosed by a gate, preceded by an elegant portico supported by two columns and a low wall. Everything encourages prayer or an intimate gathering. Around meadows, woods and huts. In summer, after a period of drought, although it may be in the mountains, it is traditional for the people of the village to go to the church on a Sunday afternoon, where a Holy Mass is celebrated, also praying for rain to arrive.
